Karnataka CM: Major setback to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in MUDA land scam. Meanwhile the High court has rejected his petition in the MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) case. Actually, in the MUDA case, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot had given permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah. The CM had challenged this decision of the Governor in the High Court.

Karnataka High Court rejected CM Siddaramaiah's petition

In the meanwhile Karnataka CM troubles, seem to be increasing in Mysore land scam case. The High Court has given permission to prosecute him. Actually, Siddaramaiah had challenged the Governor's decision. The court has rejected the Siddaramaiah’s  petition.

Siddaramaiah has got setback from HC

The High Court has rejected his petition against the Governor. During the hearing, the High Court said that there is a need to investigate the facts mentioned in the petition. Saying this, the High Court rejected the petition. During the hearing, the court said that the Governor is the competent authority to grant approval for prosecution.

What is MUDA case?

Mysore Urban Development Authority had acquired some land from farmers in the year 1992 to develop it into a residential area. It was separated from agricultural land as per the procedure, but in 1998, a part of the acquired land was returned to the farmers by MUDA. In this way, this land once again became agricultural land. In the year of 2004-05, there was a Congress JDS coalition government in Karnataka and then Siddaramaiah was the Deputy CM. During this time it came to light that this land was once again separated from agricultural land, but when the land was surveyed, it was revealed that the land was again separated from agricultural land. By the time Siddaramaiah family arrived to take ownership, the layout had already been developed.

Allegation on Karnataka CM

It was said that CM wife BM Parvati was allotted land in a posh area of ​​Mysore. The value of the property was higher than the location of her land, which was acquired by MUDA. While  MUDA had allotted plots to Parvati under the 50:50 ratio scheme in lieu of her 3.16 acres of land, where MUDA had developed a residential layout.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is in denial mode

On the other hand, Siddaramaiah has been rejecting all these allegations till now. He also called the Governor's decision unconstitutional. After this, he approached the court giving a legal challenge to the Governor's decision. Siddaramaiah had said that the Governor is unable to tolerate the government and is trying to remove it.
