Former Union minister and senior political leader Sharad Pawar was taken to a hospital in Pune on Monday afternoon after experiencing throat-related discomfort and continuous coughing.

Symptoms Since Night

According to his nephew and NCP (SP) leader Shrinivas Pawar, Sharad Pawar had been coughing persistently since the previous night and showed signs of chest congestion, prompting the decision to seek medical attention.

Shifted From Baramati

The 85-year-old leader was transported from his residence in Baramati to Pune as a precautionary step, ensuring he receives timely medical evaluation and care.

Doctors to Examine

Ruby Hall Clinic’s chief cardiologist and managing trustee, Dr Parvez Grant, confirmed Pawar’s hospitalisation. He stated that a team of doctors would examine him upon arrival before deciding on the next course of treatment.

Past Health History

Sharad Pawar is a survivor of oral cancer, which was diagnosed in the late 1990s. He had undergone multiple surgeries in India and the United States as part of his treatment.

Condition Under Watch
