Sharda Sinha's body will brought to Patna by flight, last darshan after 12 pm

Bihar's Swar Kokila Sharda Sinha is no more, taken her last breath at Delhi AIIMS. Her Son Anshuman Sinha had confirmed the death of his mother. While the singer's last rites will be performed in Patna.

The singer's body will be brought to Patna by Indigo flight at 9.40 am today. Manoj Tiwari said that Sharda Sinha's last rites will be performed with state honors in Patna.

After Sharda Sinha's death, PM Modi expressed grief on X, PM wrote, 'I am deeply saddened by the death of the famous folk singer Sharda Sinha ji. The Maithili and Bhojpuri folk songs sung by her have been very popular for the last several decades.

Kalpana Patwari paid tribute to her

Singer Kalpana Patwari paid tribute to Sharda Sinha by singing her Chhath song. Kalpana Patwari, who hails from Assam, has also been singing Chhath songs and has a connection with Purvanchal music.

Sharda Sinha was on ventilator support

The singer was suffering from multiple myeloma since 2018.  This is a type of blood cancer. After the Sharda Sinha was undergoing treatment. The singer was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi on 26 October. On Monday night, there was news of her condition being critical. She was on ventilator support.

Her son Anshuman was constantly appealing to the fans to pray for his mother. According to reports, Sharda was in shock ever since she lost her husband Braj Kishore. Her health was continuously deteriorating, after her husband death.

Sharda Sinha was famous for Chhath puja folk songs

Most of Sharda's songs were in Maithili and Bhojpuri languages, but the singer also sang Bollywood songs. Two of Sharda's songs for Salman Khan's film are still famous. She sang the farewell song 'Babul' from the 1994 movie 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun'. She won hearts by singing the song 'Kahe Tose Sajna' in Dabangg Khan's super-duper hit movie 'Maine Pyar Kiya. She was awarded Padma Shri in 1991 and Padma Bhushan in 2018.

Sharda sang 62 Chhath songs in 9 albums in her entire career. This festival was incomplete without her Chhath songs. Fans will always miss her.
