Snowfall in Himachal put a break! 228 roads closed; 123 roads of Shimla blocked

Himachal Pradesh Snowfall: Roads have been blocked due to snowfall in many districts of Himachal Pradesh. Officials said on Wednesday that 226 roads including three national highways are closed at this time. The effect of biting cold and cold wave is being seen in Himachal. In the last 24 hours, some places have received up to 10 cm of snowfall

Due to snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, beautiful views of nature are being seen at this time. But due to the roads being blocked, normal life is getting affected.

Amid snowfall many roads block in Himachal

According to the PTI report, 5 cm of snowfall has occurred in Khadrala, 2 cm in Pooh, 1.2 cm in Sangla and 1 cm in Keylong. While Taboo in Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest place where the minimum night temperature was recorded at 10.6 degrees below zero.

Officials said that a total of 226 roads including national highways are closed in Attari and Leh, Sanj to Aut in Kullu district, Khab Sangam in Kinnaur district and Gramphoo in Lahaul and Spiti district and other districts.

Roads obstructed, power outage!

Snowfall has not only obstructed the roads, but transformers have also stopped working, due to which power supply has been disrupted. Local people and tourists were expecting snowfall in Shimla on Christmas day, but on Wednesday morning bright sunshine came out here. It has also rained at some places here. Bhuntar received 9.7 mm rainfall, Rampur 9.4 mm, Shimla 8.4 mm, Bajaura 8 mm, Sebagh 7.2 mm, Manali 7 mm, Gohar 6 mm, Mandi 5.4 mm and Jubbarhatti received 3.8 mm rainfall.

Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be rain and snowfall in some places, especially Shimla, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The effect of cold wave has intensified in Mandi, Manali, Chamba, Una, Hamirpur and Sundarnagar, while dense fog prevailed in Sundarnagar and Mandi.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Bilaspur, Una, Hamirpur and Mandi on Wednesday and a yellow alert for dense fog in Bhakra Dam and Balh Valley on Thursday and Sunday.
