Stock Market: BSE closed with a decline on last day of the year, Sensex fell 109 points
Stock Market Close: On the last day of the year 2024, Tuesday 31 December 2024, the stock market closed with a decline. At the end of trading, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)'s main sensitive index Sensex closed at 78,139.01 with a decline of 109.12 points. This decline was 0.14%, which shows that investor sentiment in the market remained slightly weak.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty remained almost stable, closing at 23,644.80. There was a slight decline of only 0.10 points.
Tech Mahindra suffered the most loss in BSE Sensex
At the end of trading in the stock market, 15 out of 30 stocks listed in BSE Sensex fell and 15 stocks were in profit. Among these, Tech Mahindra suffered the most loss. Its stock fell 2.35% and closed at Rs 1705.55 per share. At the same time, the stock of Kotak Mahindra Bank was in profit. Its stock rose 2.49% and closed at Rs 1786.30 per share.
Adani Enterprises suffered most loss in NSE
Out of 50 stocks of NSE's Nifty, 28 stocks closed in the green mark and 22 stocks in the red mark. Among these, the stock of Bharat Electric Limited closed at Rs 293 per share with the highest gain of 2.84%. At the same time, the stock of Adani Enterprises fell 2.41% with the highest loss and reached Rs 2530 per share.
Condition of other Asian markets
In other Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei 225, South Korea's Kospi did not trade. Hong Kong's Hang Seng and China's Shanghai Composite showed a positive trend. European markets are positive, while US markets closed with a decline on Monday. Brent crude reached $ 74.40 per barrel in the global oil market.
How was market on Monday
Global oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.46 percent to $ 74.34 per barrel. Meanwhile on Monday, BSE Sensex closed 450.94 points lower at 78,248.13 and the NSE Nifty closed 168.50 points lower at 23,644.90.
Summary
The year 2024 ended with a decline in the domestic market. However, this year the Sensex has jumped a total of 5,898.75 points. 8.16 percent while the Nifty has gained 1,913.4 points. 8.80 percent.
