Vice-President Election:  The BJP will decide the name who will be the the next Vice-President of the country. All the parties included in NDA have given the responsibility of deciding the candidate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda. In the meeting of NDA MPs with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, it was decided that whichever candidate is decided, all the parties will support him together.

BJP will decide the Vice-President candidate

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the right to decide on the Vice-President candidate has been given to PM Modi and JP Nadda by the NDA. According to sources, NDA can make the name of its candidate public by August 12. While the date for nomination for the Vice President post is 21st August and the election will be held on 9th September 2025. Both voting and counting will take place on this day. That is, it will be decided on this day who will be the next Vice President of the country.

NDA has more than 457 MPs in both the houses of Parliament

Although NDA allance has more support than the required numbers to win the Vice President election. While the NDA has more than 457 MPs in both the houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. This includes BJP's 240 Lok Sabha and 99 Rajya Sabha MPs as well as members of its allies.

Summary

Only MPs cast their votes in the election and a total of about 788 MPs are eligible to vote. About 395 votes are required for a majority, while the NDA is far ahead of this. Although parties like BJD, YSR Congress and BRS are not directly associated with any camp, but these parties have been continuously supporting the government in the past years. In such a situation, the claim of the NDA becomes even stronger.
