Weather Alert: Severe cold alert issued in UP, dense fog in 64 districts

The new year will be welcomed with biting cold in UP. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain.

Weather Alert: After the rain in UP, cold wave continues to wreak havoc in many districts. In such a situation, a meteorologist at Banaras Hindu University, said that by January 6, a new western disturbance will also affect North India, due to which severe cold will increase in UP. Meanwhile severe cold has now knocked in Uttar Pradesh. Now there is no relief from cold even during the day. In many districts, the maximum and minimum temperatures have become almost equal. After the recent rains, fog is also present in most districts of Uttar Pradesh during the day.

Minimum temperature will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius

Along with morning and evening, dense fog is also present during the day. Due to which cold is felt throughout the day. Due to cold winds, a huge decrease was recorded in the maximum temperature, due to which people were seen shivering even during the day. People kept trying to get rid of the cold by lighting bonfires at various places.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the coming days, the minimum temperature will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. After this, there is a possibility of further increase in the cold. Fog is also affecting traffic. The speed of vehicles has slowed down. Severe cold was experienced at the end of December.

Cold day condition in 18 districts of UP: When the minimum temperature falls to 10 degrees Celsius or less and the maximum temperature falls to 4.5 to 6.4 degrees Celsius from normal, it is called cold day condition. On Monday, 18 districts including Lucknow were in cold day condition. Barabanki, Hardoi, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Bahraich, Amethi, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar were in cold day condition.

Coldest district of UP

On Monday, Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh was the coldest district, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees Celsius below normal. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Ballia district at 23 degrees Celsius, which was 4 degrees Celsius above normal.

Cold will fall along with cold wave

Due to snowfall in the hilly areas, cold wave is now wreaking havoc in many parts of North India. Due to the change in the direction of the winds, the maximum and minimum temperatures have also dropped rapidly in UP. Along with this, dense fog is also visible in most parts of the state. Dense fog with visibility of 100 to 200 meters will prevail in different districts of UP during the morning or late night. The Meteorological Department estimates that the temperature in UP may drop further from the new year.

Temperature will fall in the new year

Banaras Hindu University meteorologist Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava said that by January 6, a new western disturbance will also affect North India, due to which the cold will increase in UP as well. At present, it is estimated that in the coming 2 to 3 days, the maximum and minimum temperatures in different parts of UP may fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
