Ahead of the January 22 consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir, rituals have commenced at the temple complex, as confirmed by the chief priest on Tuesday.

These rituals are scheduled to continue until January 21, with the essential ceremonies for the "Pran Pratishtha" (consecration) of the Ram Lalla idol set to take place on January 22, as announced by temple trust general secretary Champat Rai on Monday.

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram temple, shared, "The 'anushthan' has started and will continue till January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony. Eleven priests are performing the rituals, invoking all the 'devis and devtas' (goddesses and gods)."

The trust revealed that the "Pran Pratishtha" involves seven adhivasas, with a minimum of three adhivasas being practiced. A total of 121 "acharyas" are conducting the rituals, under the supervision, coordination, and direction of Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid. Laxmikant Dixit  of Kashi will serve as the principal "acharya."

Rai had previously stated that the Ram temple "Pran Pratishtha" will commence at 12:20 pm on January 22.

The series of rituals leading up to the "Pran Pratishtha" began with "prayaschita" and "karmakuti poojan," as outlined in the Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's schedule. Subsequent events include the completion of the idol's "parisar pravesh" on January 17, followed by "teerth poojan," "jal yatra," and "gandhadhivas" on January 18. "Aushadhadhivas," "kesaradhivas," "ghritadhivas," and "dhanyadhivas" will be observed on January 19.

Rituals related to "sharkara dhivas," "phaladhivas," and "pushpadhivas" are scheduled for January 20. Finally, on January 21, the "madhyadhivas" and "shaiyadhivas" rituals will conclude, according to the released schedule.
