Enhanced Security Measures
In light of the grand celebrations, security has been heightened around the Red Fort and other areas. Security forces, including bomb disposal teams and dog squads, are thoroughly checking the surroundings. This increased security extends beyond Delhi to states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana to prevent any incidents.

Historical Context of Modi’s Speech
This year, PM Modi’s Independence Day speech marks the beginning of his third term as Prime Minister. With this speech, he surpasses Manmohan Singh, who spoke 10 times from the Red Fort, and is now behind Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, who each addressed the nation 17 and 16 times respectively.
