A group of 23 enthusiastic students from Punjab government schools embarked on a flight from Chandigarh on Friday, setting their sights on Sriharikota for the historic launch event of ISRO's Aditya L1 mission. As India's maiden solar expedition gears up for its journey to the Sun, the PSLV C57 rocket is all set to carry Aditya L1 on a 125-day voyage to unlock the secrets of our closest star.

The 23.10-hour countdown commenced in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday, marking the final preparations for this extraordinary mission.

Punjab's School Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, proudly announced that the state government would fully cover the expenses of these students, who were chosen to witness this awe-inspiring event in Sriharikota. The initiative aims to ignite a passion for science among government school students. Notably, this isn't the first time; similar groups of students had the opportunity to witness the launches of Chandrayaan 3 and PSLV-C56.

Regarding the solar expedition, ISRO Chairman S. Somanath revealed that the Aditya L1 mission would take approximately 125 days to reach its precise destination. Aditya L1's mission objectives include providing remote observations of the solar corona and conducting in-situ observations of the solar wind at L1, or the Sun-Earth Lagrangian point, situated approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.

As India eagerly anticipates this remarkable journey to study the Sun up close and personal, the inclusion of these young minds from Punjab's government schools adds an inspiring touch, fostering a brighter future for science in the country.
