The Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway (RRC ECR), is accepting applications for sports quota positions with a deadline for submission by February 26. Aspiring candidates can apply online through the official website at ecr.indianrailways.gov.in. For applicants from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, J&K, Andaman & Nicobar & Lakshadweep islands, Lahaul & Spiti districts, and Pangi subdivisions of Chamba districts of Himachal Pradesh, the application deadline is March 11.

What is the application fee?

This recruitment aims to fill 31 sports quota vacancies in HQ/ECR Hajipur and 25 vacancies for sportspersons in level 1 across the 5 divisions of East Central Railway. Applicants must be within the age range of 18 to 25. The UR/OBC category applicants are required to pay an examination fee of Rs. 500, while SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities, and Economic Backward Classes will be charged Rs. 250.

Eligibility requirements

For the position at pay level 4/5, applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

For the role at pay level ⅔, candidates should have completed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination. Alternatively, they should have passed matriculation along with the completion of Act Apprenticeship or matriculation plus ITI approved by NVCT/SCVT. Those who have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board may also qualify if they have passed Tech III. However, the training duration for selected candidates will be 3 years, unless they possess or acquire ITI in the relevant trade, in which case the training period will be reduced to 6 months.

For the position at pay level 1, candidates must have completed class 10th from a recognized board or possess an ITI or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, candidates holding a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT are also eligible.
