Rajniesh Duggall will be seen in negative shade in the film; says, "I wanted to play something different from the positive roles that I had done so far"
The trailer for the upcoming film Mandali has been released online which stars Rajniesh Duggall, Brijendra Kala, Aanchal Munjal and Abhishek Duhan in prominent roles.
Directed by Rakesh Chaturvedi Om, the film billed as a satirical take on exploitation of Ramleela's play by incorporating obscene dances in small towns for financial gain and everyday morals. It's a captivating theme about the blurring lines of virtue and righteousness in this modern-age world portrayed through the characters of Ramleela which will be released on October 27, 2023 in theatres.
During the trailer launch actor Rajniesh Duggall shared, "It has been an incredible experience working on this film. When the director, Rakesh Chaturvedi, approached me with the script and narrated the idea and story, I initially thought that I would be offered the positive role of artists playing Ram or Laxman. However, the director said that they wanted me to play the antagonist, Omkar Singh, the main villain of the film. I was thrilled, as I wanted to play something different from the positive roles that I had done so far, and this film gave me that opportunity to explore this complex character. Omkar Singh is an influential, manipulative, and ruthless individual who wants everything his way. He is a formidable opponent, and I am confident that the audience will find Omkar Singh to be a memorable character."
The trailer gives a glimpse into the life of Pursottam Choubey aka Puru essayed by Abhishek Duhan. Puru is an artist who plays the role of Lord Laxman in Ramleela and considers it bigger than his life; breaks down badly while fighting against the evils that degrade its sanctity. But with his unwavering faith rises again like a phoenix from the ashes to keep his dream/passion alive and sets an extraordinary example which astonishes everyone especially his detractors. Rajniesh Duggall is seen playing a manipulative and power politician. Whereas, Aanchal Munjal essays Puru's love interest who is also an artist.
Produced by Prashant Kumar Gupta, Geetika Gupta and Neetu Sabarwal of Reltic Pictures, the film also stars an ensemble cast of Vineet Kumar, Kanwaljeet Singh, Alka Amin, Ashwath Bhatt, Saharsh Shukla and Neeraj Sood.
