Rajya Sabha: The  BJP-led NDA party has adder new feather in there cap, the BJP and his alliance NDA  has reached 115 in the upper house of Parliament   the Rajya Sabha, The NDA's seats in the Rajya Sabha have increased to 115. This has happened after the unopposed election of 11 new members. Of these, 9 MPs are from BJP. Two are from its allies Janata Dal United and NCP of (Ajit Pawar). The ruling coalition also has the support of 6 nominated members. Out of 12 vacant posts, Congress has won one seat from Telangana. Not only this, BJP alone has 96 members in the Rajya Sabha, which makes it the largest party. After the lead BJP got in the Upper House.

 Now NDA is strong in Rajya Sabha

Even though  the top leader of BJP did not get the success they expected in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, were  The party had set a target of crossing 400 with the NDA alliance. However, the BJP-led NDA alliance stopped at 293 seats. BJP got stuck at 240 seats in this election. However, the alliance achieved the majority figure. In such a situation, the BJP leadership is now moving forward with the alliance partners in the Lok Sabha. However, it has also had to backtrack in some recent decisios, After coming to the front seat in the Rajya Sabh.

BJP has 96 MPs Congress has 85 MPs and

In the meanwhile the NDA alliance is  strong in the Rajya Sabha. Still, the BJP-led alliance is slightly behind the majority figure of 119. Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy George Kurien is also among those who won without contest this time. The ruling alliance also has the support of six nominated members and an independent member. With an additional seat of the Congress, the number of opposition in the Upper House has gone up to 85.But still they BJP and his alliance are missing the magic number of 119.

245 sets of  Rajya Sabha, some seats are vacant

The  total of number of seats in Rajya Sabha is 245,  However, currently eight seats are vacant. These include four from J&K and four for nominated members. BJP candidates elected without opposition include Ranjan Das and Rajeshwar Teli from Assam, Manan Kumar Mishra from Bihar, Kiran Chaudhary from Haryana, Dhiraj Sheel Patil from Maharashtra, Mamta Mahanta from Odisha, Ravneet Singh Bittu from Rajasthan and Rajeev Bhattacharya from Tripura. Congress Candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi of Congress was elected unopposed from Telangana. NCP Ajit Pawar faction's Nitin Patil from Maharashtra and RLM's Upendra Kushwaha from Bihar reached the Upper House.
