- At the age of 9, she was married to Jyotirao Phule, who was thirteen years old at the time and one of the most famous social reformers of Maharashtra.
- Savitribai is known as the country’s first revolutionary feminist, who learned reading and writing, which was against a revolutionary task in itself during these timess, After learning these skills, she began teaching girls in Maharwada in Pune.
- Savitribai and Jyotirao Phule started India’s first school for girls at Bhide Wada in 1848. The curriculum included mathematics, science, and social studies and was based on western education.
