Republic Day: Delhi will have airspace restrictions in effect for 11 days this month
According to an official, airspace limitations will be in effect in the national capital for 11 days this month to prepare for and celebrate Republic Day.
Airspace restrictions will be in effect from January 19 to 25, as well as on January 26 and 29. Non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines and chartered flights would be prohibited from 10 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.
From January 19 to 25, limitations will be in effect every day from 1000 to 1315 hours. According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), non-scheduled aircraft from scheduled airlines and chartered flights will be prohibited from taking off or landing at Delhi International Airport during this time.
Scheduled flights will not be affected during this time. According to the NOTAM published by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), these restrictions would be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on January 26–29.
On January 26, no flights will be permitted to take off or land between 0600 and 2100 hours. The official stated that the restrictions will not affect the movement of scheduled flights operated by scheduled airlines.
According to a NOTAM issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), no flights would be allowed to land or take off at the Delhi airport on January 29, the day of the Leading the Retreat ceremony.
NOTAM will not affect IAF, BSF, or Army aviation helicopter activities, as well as state-owned aircraft and helicopters flying with the Governor or Chief Minister of the state.
