Right to Health bill passed in Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha

<p>The Rajasthan legislative assembly on Tuesday passed the Rajasthan Right to Health (RTH) Bill which was proposed in 2022. Now the people of the state will get the emergency care in private hospitals without any prior payment. Which simply means that now all the patients during their emergency treatment which is being decided by the state&#8217;s health authority can now be treated by doctors without paying any fees/payment prior the treatment.The bill cleared that any health care provider be it be a doctor cannot delay the treatment which can be punishable according to the bill passed. The Rajasthan legislative assembly on Tuesday passed the Rajasthan Right to Health (RTH) Bill which was proposed in 2022.

Now the people of the state will get the emergency care in private hospitals without any prior payment. Which simply means that now all the patients during their emergency treatment which is being decided by the state’s health authority can now be treated by doctors without paying any fees/payment prior the treatment.

The bill cleared that any health care provider be it be a doctor cannot delay the treatment which can be punishable according to the bill passed. Or if any patient who does something “unacceptable” or just tries to violate the law by any manner would be fined around Rs10,000, and if the rule breaks for a couple of times the fine doubles.

After the bill was passed Health minister Parsadi Lal Meena said the government is committed to providing healthcare facilities to the people. He further said that there have been complains regarding the irregularities of the healthcare workers especially in Private sector despite the patient having the Chiranjeevi card.


State’s health minister stated, “Right to health’ is in the interest of the public. The state government had sent this bill to the select committee on the basis of the suggestion of all the members. The suggestions of all the members and doctors have been included in the bill.” He further added, “The state is becoming a model state in the field of health and 7% of the budget is being spent on the health sector.”
