Sainik School Balachadi Spearheads Swachhta Abhiyaan in 'Swachhta Hi Seva' Campaign

Sainik School Balachadi, known for its commitment to discipline and values, recently organized a highly successful Swachhta Abhiyaan under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. The campaign, which took place on October 1, 2023, was designed to promote cleanliness and hygiene among its cadets, faculty, and staff while instilling the value of maintaining a clean and healthy environment for every individual.

The Swachhata Abhiyaan witnessed enthusiastic participation from 550 cadets and 50 staff members, reflecting the school's dedication to actively promoting cleanliness. The event commenced with an inspiring speech by Dr. (Prof) Hireni Mankodi, an eminent Professor from The MS University of Baroda, who emphasized the significance of cleanliness and its profound impact on one's overall well-being and the environment.

To kick off the event, all cadets, staff members, and Mr. Shadevsinh Vaghela, the Sarpanch of Balachadi Village, took the "Swachhata Pledge." They then embarked on various cleanliness activities under the banner of "Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath."

Guided by dedicated teachers and staff, the cadets actively engaged in a wide range of cleanliness activities. They formed teams and undertook specific tasks such as picking up litter, cleaning classrooms, cadet's mess, hostels, Shaurya Stambh, shopping complex, school parks, library, common areas, sick bay, and even cleaning the Balachadi Beach and the roads surrounding the school campus. Additionally, they organized waste management systems to ensure efficient disposal of waste.

Apart from these hands-on efforts, the school conducted an awareness drive in Balachadi to promote proper sanitation practices, waste management, and the importance of recycling within the local community. Cadets participated in slogan writing competitions, drawing contests on cleanliness, and performed street plays to sensitize the local community. They also engaged with students from Govt. School Balachadi and carried placards as 'Swachhta Warriors,' encouraging everyone to actively participate in maintaining clean surroundings.

The success of the Swachhta Abhiyaan can be attributed to the collective effort of the school authorities, cadets, faculty, and staff, who dedicated their time and energy to make a meaningful impact. The event underscored the power of teamwork and shared responsibility toward the environment.

Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal, and Lt Col Harjot Kaur, Vice Principal of Sainik School Balachadi, applauded the selfless contributions of the real "Swachhta Doots" and honored them for their dedication.
