The city of Ayodhya has been flooded with devotees of Lord Ram, eagerly awaiting the Darshan of their deity.

Ever since the Pran Pratistha ceremony of Lord Ram commenced on January 16, Ram bhakts have been arriving in the city. On the day of Pran Pratistha, January 22, only invited guests were allowed to enter the temple due to security reasons. Since January 22, the temple has been open to the general public for Darshan.

Devotees flooding Ram Mandir

As lakhs of devotees had already arrived in Ayodhya even before the inauguration, they began visiting the temple on January 22. Thousands of devotees gathered in front of the temple as early as 3 am and stood in line for hours before the temple opened at 7 am. The surge of devotees led to a security breach as people pushed against the security personnel.

On January 23, a similar scene unfolded as devotees continued to visit the temple in large numbers. Due to the situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally assessed the situation, reaching the spot and issuing necessary directions to the security staff. According to a press release from CMO, "The Chief Minister sent officials first, then personally visited Ayodhya on Tuesday, conducted an aerial survey to assess the situation, and held a meeting with district administration officials, providing them with necessary directions to control the crowd and ensure foolproof security arrangements for the convenience of devotees."

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also urged devotees to exercise patience and cooperate with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, local administration, and police, emphasizing that all authorities are working diligently to facilitate a seamless Darshan of Lord Ram.

The number of people was so large that, according to reports, around 3 lakh devotees had already had Darshan by the afternoon, with a similar number still waiting. The security staff were prepared for this influx and had to enter the temple to control the crowd.

The Chief Minister is continuously monitoring the situation from Lucknow and has directed the Principal Secretary (Home) and the DGP (Law and Order), Prashant Kumar, to reach the spot and take charge of the situation to ensure no security lapses occur.

The Chief Minister himself also visited Ayodhya, undertook an aerial survey of the situation, and issued necessary directions.
