Shabri ke meethe Ber(Jujube) reaches Ram Lalla in Ayodhya
The Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, on January 20, accepted the gift of the Ber fruit (JUJUBE) from Lord Ram's maternal homeland, Chhattisgarh.
The country has been in a festive mood for the past few weeks and will continue to celebrate throughout January as their beloved Sri Ram is going to be consecrated in the Ram Mandir.
Shabri ke Ber
A group of 17 people from Shivrinarayan in Chhattisgarh's Champa district have arrived in Ayodhya with a special gift. Shivrinarayan is considered the maternal home of Lord Ram. According to the Sanatana text Ramayan, Lord Ram visited this place during his exile "vanvas," and there, an old lady who was a devotee of Lord Ram gave him the fruit Ber to eat.
The old lady was Shabri. The story of Shabri and Lord Ram is a tale of devotion, innocence, love, and respect. Since Shabri did not want Lord Ram to eat any sour fruit, she tasted every fruit and then only gave the sweet ones to Ram for eating. Lord Ram didn't hesitate to eat the fruit already tasted by Shabri. He ate the sweet fruit, which showed that for Ram, it doesn't matter if the person offering food is rich or poor; what matters is the emotions with which the food is offered. Shabri fed the sweet fruit Ber to Lord Ram with love, and he ate it with love.
"We have brought 'sweet ber' from Chhattisgarh's Shivrinarayan, which is also Ram Lalla's maternal home. A team of 17 'Rambhakts' has arrived here in Ayodhya," said the Ram Bhakt Anup, who brought the fruit.
"Along with the 'sweet ber,' we have also brought a special kind of plant, which is only found in Shivrinarayan. The leaves of the tree are bowl-shaped. It is believed that Mata Shabri fed 'ber' to Lord Ram in these bowl-shaped leaves," he added.
This group of people has planned to appeal to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust to plant those trees in Ayodhya. They said, "We will request the Ram Janmbhoomi trust to plant these trees in Ayodhya," he said."
