Mumbai: In the film industry, stories of celebrities battling depression often come to light. The latest name to join this list is actress Shama Sikander, who appeared alongside Aamir Khan in the film Mann. Shama reached a point where her mental health deteriorated so much that she contemplated suicide and even made an attempt on her life.

Why Did Shama Sikander Take Such a Drastic Step?
Shama Sikander, known for her strong presence on social media, recently opened up about her dark phase in an interview with Pinkvilla. Shama, whose bikini photos and videos often trend on the internet, shared how the pressures of the industry took a toll on her mental health.

She revealed, "I stayed very active in the industry, working in films and TV. But sometimes, continuous work can negatively impact your health. I decided to take a break and spent time at home, but the restlessness didn’t go away. My mental health worsened, and one day, I tried to commit suicide. Thankfully, my parents saved me at the last moment. That’s when I realized how dangerous depression can be."
Shama Sikander’s Work Front
Shama made her debut in the film Prem Aangan in 1998. She later appeared in several other films, including Mann, Ansh, and Bypass Road. After finding success on the big screen, she transitioned to television, starring in popular shows like Yeh Meri Life, CID, and Bal Veer.
