Sitaram Yechury Death:  The CPM leader Sitaram Yechury is no more. passed away at the age of 72. He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on 19 August after suffering from high fever. He breathed his last breath in Delhi AIIMS. Sitaram Yechury was born 12 August 1952 in Chennai. However he was kept on oxygen support for a long time. Sitaram Yechury is survived by his wife Seema Chishti and two children.

Sitaram Yechury political carrier

He was born on 12 August 1952 in Chennai, and did his graduation from Delhi University and post graduation from Jawaharlal Nehru University. In the meanwhile Yechury joined the CPM as a student leader 50 years ago. In 1975, as a student leader, he opposed the Emergency. For this, he also had to go to jail.  He was the general secretary of the party for three consecutive terms.

All party Leaders across the country paid tribute

CM Mamata Banerjee said that she was very sad to hear the news of Yechury's death. He was an experienced MP and his departure is a big loss for national politics.

PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the death of Yechury. Mufti wrote on Instagram that she was shocked to hear the news of Yechury's death. I express my condolences to his family.

Yechury was active on social media from hospital

Yechury paid tribute to former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya on his death on 22 August while he was admitted to AIIMS. 'It is very unfortunate that I have to express my feelings for Buddho da and say Lal Salaam from AIIMS itself.' Also on August 23, Yechury wrote on social media X about the electoral alliance between CPM, Congress and National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir.
