Anil Chaudhary ends his international and IPL umpiring career

India's famous umpire Anil Chaudhary has said goodbye to his umpiring career at the international and IPL level as well.

Umpire Anil Chaudhary Retirement: India's very popular umpire Anil Chaudhary has retired from umpiring in international and IPL. After this announcement, Chaudhary will not be seen umpiring in IPL 2025. He umpired in the last match recognized by BCCI during the final match of Ranji Trophy.

In that clash, Vidarbha defeated Kerala and won the Ranji Trophy title. Recently it was also revealed that Chaudhary is going to make his IPL debut as a commentator this time.

At the same time, his last international match as an umpire was the India vs Australia ODI match, which was played on 27 September 2023. In that match, the Kangaroo team was victorious by 66 runs. He is 60 years old and this is the reason for his retirement.

In a media report, he said that he has now decided to say goodbye to his umpiring career but will be seen doing commentary from the next season.

Veteran umpire spoke on retirement

Speaking to Times of India, Anil Chaudhary said, "I will now do commentary work. All this has become difficult for me. For the last 6 months, I have been doing only commentary. I did commentary during the Champions Trophy 2025 in the month of February-March. I then took a break for the Ranji Trophy final. I have received very good reviews for my umpiring.

Summary

Anil Chaudhary is the most experienced umpire in IPL history. He has umpired in 226 matches so far, out of which he has played the role of on-field umpire in 131 matches. He played the role of fourth umpire in 21 matches and TV umpire in the remaining matches.

However, he also gave good news to his fans and told that he is going to continue umpiring in the leagues of UAE and USA.
