CT 2025, IND Vs AUS Semi-Final: During the match, Team India came out wearing black bands on their arms in honor of Padmakar Shivalkar. Left-arm spinner Shivalkar was one of the best spinners in the country who never got a chance to play for the national team. He died here on Monday due to age-related problems. He was 84 years old.

Australia captain Steve Smickath won the toss and decided to bat first in the semi-final match of the Champions Trophy between India and Australia at the Dubai International Stadium.

   

Meanwhile the left-arm spinner made his Ranji Trophy debut at the age of 22 and played till the age of 48. He took 361 wickets in India's premier domestic competition, including 10 wickets in a match 11 times. Shivalkar took 16 wickets in 12 List A matches.

He was awarded the CK Nayudu 'Lifetime Achievement' award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in 2017. Shivalkar, one of the best spinners who never played for India, played a total of 124 first-class matches between 1961-62 and 1987-88 and took 589 wickets at an average of 19.69.
