Chhath, predominantly celebrated in states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, involves fasting, ritual bathing in rivers, and offering prayers to express gratitude to the Sun God for the blessings of life on earth. Devotees seek the blessings of Goddess Chhathi Maiya and God Surya/Bhaskar (Sun) during this festival.
The belief is that sincere prayers and desires from the heart bring blessings. Throughout the fasting period, individuals consume only pure foods, and cleanliness is given utmost importance.
In the cricketing realm, India's remarkable journey in the World Cup 2023 includes an unbeaten run in the league phase and a convincing 70-run victory over New Zealand in the semifinal. The explosive performances of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer set the stage for a massive target of 397/4, with KL Rahul adding the finishing touches. Mohammed Shami's exceptional bowling secured a seven-wicket haul, derailing the Kiwi chase and securing India's spot in the final in Ahmedabad.
As India aims for its third World Cup title, the team is fueled by the desire to avenge the heart-wrenching loss to Australia in the 2003 final in Johannesburg. The upcoming clash against Australia in the World Cup final is a pivotal moment for India, and the team is determined to emerge victorious and etch their name in cricketing history once again.
