Indian cricketer KL Rahul created history in England, failed all the openers of the world

India vs England: Team India's star opener KL Rahul created history on the England tour. Rahul could not do anything special in the Oval Test, but this tour proved to be memorable for him. Rahul, who came in this series as the most senior and experienced batsman of the Indian team, gave the best performance of his career and lived up to the expectations of Team India. With this, he also became the opener to score the most runs in a series on England in the last 22 years.

This is a great series for KL Rahul

Rahul failed in both innings in the last match of the Test series between India and England at the Oval in London. In the first innings of this decisive match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Rahul was out after scoring just 14 runs. In the second innings too, he could not do anything and could score only half of the runs. This time he returned to the pavilion after scoring just 7 runs. In this way, he returned after getting out in both the innings in the first two days of the match.

First opener to score the most runs in a series

KL Rahul could score only 21 runs in this Test, but he scored a lot of runs in the last four matches. From the first Test in Leeds to the fourth Test in Manchester, he played an innings of more than 50 runs at least once in every match. In this way, Rahul ended the series with strong figures of 532 runs in 10 innings of 5 Tests. His best score was 137 runs.

Best opener in England in 22 years

This proved to be the best series of Rahul's Test career, where he not only scored more than 400 runs in a series for the first time, but also became the most successful opener on English soil in the last 22 years. However in 2003  that time South African captain Graeme Smith had scored 714 runs as an opener in England. After him, this is the first time that an opener has scored more than 500 runs in England. Foreign openers like Matthew Hayden, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma and English openers like Alastair Cook-Andrew Strauss were also not able to do this feat.
