In the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, SRH batted first and scored 278 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs, this is the second highest team total of IPL 2025.

In the 68th match of IPL 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs in a one-sided manner. In this match, Hyderabad team batted first and scored 278 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs thanks to Heinrich Klaasen's century. In response, the Kolkata Knight Riders team was all out after scoring 168 runs in 18.4 overs.

This is the biggest defeat in terms of runs for Kolkata in the history of IPL. Earlier, KKR was defeated by Mumbai Indians by 102 runs in 2018.

KKR made shameful record while leaving

Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head batted brilliantly for SRH Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave the team a stormy start. Both added 92 runs in 6.5 overs.

The team's first wicket fell in the form of Abhishek Sharma, who was dismissed after scoring 32 runs at a strike rate of 200. After this Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen took charge. Both batted stormily and thrashed the KKR bowlers fiercely.

Hyderabad won the match in a one-sided manner

There was a partnership of 83 runs for the second wicket between the two. Head was dismissed after scoring 76 runs in 40 balls, but Klaasen continued to thrash from the other end. He completed his century in 37 balls. He returned unbeaten after scoring 105 runs in 39 balls.

Apart from him, Ishan Kishan contributed 29 runs in 20 balls and Aniket Verma contributed 12 runs in 6 balls. Sunil Narine took the maximum 2 wickets from KKR.

KKR batsmen crumbled under pressure

Chasing the target of 279 runs, Kolkata looked under pressure from the very beginning. Sunil Narine got a good start but he could not convert it into a big innings and was dismissed after scoring 31 runs in 16 balls. De Kock also flopped in this match and was dismissed after scoring 9 runs in 13 balls. After this, no batsman of the team could play on the crease.

Captain Rahane (15), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (14) and Rinku Singh (9) were dismissed, while Andre Russell could not even open his account.

Summary

In the end, Manish Pandey (37) and Harshit Rana (34) reduced the margin of victory by hitting some big shots. Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Malinga and Harsh Dubey took 3-3 wickets for SRH and played an important role in the team's victory.
