LSG captain Rishabh Pant gives strange excuse for his team’s poor start in IPL 2025
IPL 2025 LSG vs PBKS: In IPL 2025, a match was held between the two most expensive captains of this season on Tuesday. In this match between Rishabh Pant's Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings' Shreyas Iyer, Punjab won. Chasing the Super Giants' target of 172 runs, Punjab Kings won by scoring 177 runs for two wickets in 16.2 overs, thanks to Prabhsimran Singh's innings of 69 runs in 34 balls with three sixes and nine fours and his 84-run partnership for the second wicket with captain Shreyas Iyer (52 runs, 30 balls, four sixes, three fours).
After the defeat of the star-studded LSG, captain Rishabh Pant admitted that his team did not score enough runs.

Pant said after the match, "It was not enough, we fell behind by 20-25 runs. This is a part of the game - it was our first home match, so we are still assessing the conditions. The Super Giants captain admitted that the poor start affected their total score.
Pant further said, "Definitely. It is always difficult when you lose early wickets (to score big). You cannot control everything, but every player was trying to take the match forward."

Lucknow lost wickets quickly in the beginning but scored a respectable score in the end. He said, "Our idea was to get a slow wicket because we felt it was a home match, the ball would stop a bit. We did not perform very well. We will learn from this and move forward. There are definitely a lot of positives.
The team still has to figure out a lot of things at the start of the tournament and hopefully it will be good for us.
Talking about the IPL 2025 LSG vs PBKS match, LSG won the toss and decided to bat first. But the team had a very bad start. Due to the initial setbacks, the team was struggling at a score of 35/3. However, Nicholas Pooran (44 runs in 30 balls) and Ayush Badoni (41 runs in 33 balls) tried to handle the innings.

In the end, Abdul Samad's quick innings of 27 runs in 12 balls took the team to a respectable score of 171/7. Punjab Kings bowlers performed brilliantly, with Arshdeep Singh taking the maximum three wickets. Apart from him, Marco Jensen, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell and Yuzvendra Chahal also took one wicket each.
Chasing the target, Punjab Kings batted aggressively
Even though the team lost the wicket of Priyansh Arya (8) early, thanks to the brilliant innings of Prabhsimran Singh (69 runs, 34 balls), captain Shreyas Iyer (52* runs, 30 balls) and Nehal Wadhera (43* runs, 25 balls), PBKS won the match by eight wickets with 22 balls to spare.

Among the LSG bowlers, Digvesh Rathi registered figures of 2/30 in four overs, but it was not enough to give them victory. With this win, Punjab Kings moved to second place in the points table, while Lucknow Super Giants slipped to sixth place after winning one match out of three.
