Qualifying is important, but focus on learning and building for IPL 2026: Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that he needs to look at whether he is playing the right kind of cricket and urged his teammates to do some introspection keeping in mind the plan to prepare 11 players for next year's IPL.

Dhoni indicated that the players are not able to execute their strategy but at the same time he also said that he is close to identifying the core group for next year.

Dhoni said after the nine-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians in an IPL match here on Sunday evening, "We have to win all the matches that we have left. We are focusing only on one match at a time. If we lose a few matches in the future, it will be important for us to prepare the right combination for next year.
