Rohit Sharma Announced Retirement from Test Cricket: After Indian captain Rohit Sharma retired from the Test format, former players and teams took to social media to thank the 38-year-old for his 12-year stint with the national team. Among the first to congratulate was the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), the governing body that helped Rohit reach new heights in his career.
While MCA posted, "Mumbai Cha Raja Mumbai's king has retired from Test cricket. From bringing fast bowlers into the stands to leading with calm authority, Rohit Sharma's Test journey was worth watching, every roar of yours."
India head coach Gautam Gambhir posted on X after Rohit Sharma's retirement, writing, 'A master, a leader'.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said it was 'proud of the Hitman' BCCI posted, "Thank you, Captain. End of an era in whites! @ImRo45 bids adieu to Test cricket. He will continue to lead India in ODIs. We are proud of you, Hitman."
Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant claimed that Rohit's influence will be felt in the Indian team's dressing room for many years to come.
Your presence and influence will always be felt in the dressing room. Lots of love, @rohitsharma45 bhai," Pant posted on Instagram.
Dhruv Jurel, who got a chance to make his Test debut under Rohit in the Test series against England in 2024, also wished the right-handed batsman on his retirement.

Rohit ended his Test career with 4,301 runs in 67 Tests at an average of 40.57, including 12 centuries and 18 fifties. He was appointed captain in 2022 after Virat Kohli resigned from captaincy. He also oversaw India's defeat in the 2023 WTC Final against Australia.

Rohit Sharma's IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians, also took time out to congratulate their most successful captain.
"Cap 280, Jersey 45, Out of Test cricket. It was a privilege to see you in the white jersey of India, Ro!," MI posted.
