Shubman Gill unwell before Asia Cup, out of this tournament, captain changed

Shubman Gill:  Before the Asia Cup 2025, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, Shubman Gill, suddenly fell ill, he has got viral fever. The Asia Cup will be played in the UAE from September 9 to September 28, India's first match is with the UAE on September 10. After this, team India will play with Pakistan on 14 September 2025. However, Gill will recover before the Asia Cup.

Shubman Gill out of Duleep Trophy

Shubman Gill has been ruled out of the Duleep Trophy after suffering from viral fever. Let us tell you that Gill was elected captain of the North John team in the Duleep Trophy. But after getting fever, he had to leave the tournament and now Ankit Kumar will replace him as captain. According to the Times of India report, Gill is recovering now and will start practicing soon. There is no major problem in his blood report as well. It is expected that he will be fully healthy soon.

After Shubman Gill's exclusion from the Duleep Trophy, Haryana's Ankut Kumar will take over the captaincy of the North Zone team, he was earlier the vice-captain of the team. North Zone's match will kick off from today against East Zone. While Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana can play in this match of the Duleep Trophy.

Gill is the vice-captain in the Asia Cup 2025

Gill will soon recover completely and start practicing; he has been selected as the vice-captain of the Indian team in the Asia Cup. The Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format and it is believed that the BCCI can also hand over the captaincy of T20 to Gill in the future. Currently Suryakumar Yadav is the captain of the team.

Rishabh Pant is not playing in the Asia Cup due to injury. Jitesh Sharma has also included as wicket keeper along with Sanju Samson in the Indian cricket team. Fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah is also included in the team. However Indian team is  in Group A in the Asia Cup 2025, in which they are with Pakistan, UAE and Oman. The other group consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Afghanistan.
