Suryakumar Yadav breaks silence on poor T20I performance

Suryakumar Yadav's performance in T20 Internationals this year has been very disappointing. He hasn't scored a single half-century this year and his average is less than 15.  Especially considering the upcoming T20 World Cup, Surya's form is becoming a matter of concern for Team India. After the Dharamshala T20 match, he spoke openly about his poor form. He admitted that he is out of runs, but not out of form.

'Game teaches you a lot...'

Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match presentation, "This game teaches you a lot.  Making a comeback in any series is what matters most. We did the same. We went back to the basics and repeated the things we were doing in Cuttack. The results were in our favor. We learned a lot from the match we played in Chandigarh. The bowlers sat down and talked, there was a team meeting. Then we came to the practice session and focused on the things we were doing in Cuttack." Suryakumar Yadav scored 717 runs for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, but his bat remained completely silent while playing for India. This year, Surya has crossed the 30-run mark only twice in 20 T20 International matches.

Summary

His highest score this year was an unbeaten 47, which he scored against Pakistan in the Asia Cup in Dubai. Suryakumar is repeatedly getting out playing his favorite pick-up shot. The same shot led to his dismissal in the Dharamshala T20, further adding to his troubles.
