US Open 2025: Aryna Sabalenka won US Open champion for the second consecutive time

World number-1 female tennis player Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula in the women's singles semi-finals of the US Open 2025.

US Open 2025: Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has won the women's singles title at the US Open 2025. In the final played at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Saturday (September 6), Aryna Sabalenka defeated Amanda Anisimova of USA 6-3, 7-6 (3). Sabalenka took 1 hour and 34 minutes to win the match against eighth seeded Anisimova

Now in the final too, she defeated Amanda Anisimova of USA and won the title.

Aryna Sabalenka has become the US Open champion for the second consecutive time. She had won the title here last year as well. This is the first time since 2014 that a player has defended her title of the US Open. This was Sabalenka's fourth Grand Slam title.

Aryna Sabalenka has also won the Australian Open twice (2023, 2024). On the other hand, Amanda Anisimova was playing her second consecutive Grand Slam final, but she could not win the title again. In the Wimbledon 2025 Women's Singles final, Anisimov suffered a crushing 0-6, 0-6 defeat at the hands of Poland's Iga Swiatek.

27-year-old Aryna Sabalenka made it to the title match by defeating USA's Jessica Pegula in the first semi-final. At the same time, 24-year-old Amanda Anisimova defeated Japanese player Naomi Osaka 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the semi-finals.

There will be a fierce competition between Alcaraz and Sinner

On the other hand, World number-1 Jannik Sinner will face Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in the US Open 2025 Men's Singles Final on 7 September (Sunday). Italian player Sinner defeated Canada's Felix Auger Aliassime  6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second semi-final match. World number-2 Alcaraz defeated seventh seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-2 in the first semi-final.
