Teacher’s Day 2023 : PM Modi praised teachers for their unwavering commitment and significant influence

On the occasion of Teachers' Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday. He praised teachers for their unwavering commitment and significant influence.
On Monday, he also gave glimpses of his conversations with the National Teachers' Award recipients. At his home on Lok Kalyan Marg, 7, in Delhi, the prime minister and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan spoke with the awardees.
75 Educators will receive reward
75 educators from across the country will receive the distinction on September 5 from President Droupadi Murmu, according to representatives of the education ministry. A silver medal, a cash award of Rs. 50,000, and a certificate of distinction are all included with each award.
Every year on Teachers Day, a ceremony is held by the ministry of education's department of school education and literacy to honour the best teachers in the country.
50 teachers from public schools, 13 from higher education institutions, and 12 from the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship are among the recipients of the chosen awards.
Reward educators who improve the quality of education
According to a senior ministry official, the award's goal is to recognise the contribution of teachers to the nation. To reward those who, have not only enhanced their students' lives but also increased the quality of education.
Teachers' Day is celebrated annually on September 5 to commemorate Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He served as, India's first vice president, who was born on this date in 1888. The influence teachers have on their students' lives is also recognised on this day.
Educated and a winner of the Bharat Ratna, Radhakrishnan served as India's first vice president from 1952 to 1962. In addition, he served as India's second president from 1962 to 1967.
