Just days before its first major launch event of the year, fresh leaks have tempered expectations around the upcoming Samsung flagship. Promotional material circulating online suggests the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may skip major battery and camera upgrades.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026 on February 25 in San Francisco. While fans expected notable hardware improvements, early leaks indicate a more incremental update.

No big battery boost?

According to leaked slides, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could retain a 5,000mAh battery, the same capacity seen on its predecessor. Charging speeds are also tipped to remain similar, with the device reportedly reaching 75 per cent in around 30 minutes.

Marketing material mentions up to 31 hours of video playback, figures that mirror last year’s model. This may disappoint users who were expecting a larger battery, especially as some competing Android flagships now offer capacities between 6,000mAh and 7,000mAh.

Samsung may instead rely on improved efficiency from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor to enhance real world battery performance without increasing capacity.

Camera hardware unchanged?

The camera setup also appears largely unchanged, according to the leak. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature:

200 megapixel primary sensor

50 megapixel ultra wide camera

10 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom

50 megapixel periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom

The front camera is tipped to remain a 12 megapixel sensor.

While there may be no major hardware overhaul, Samsung could introduce new AI driven features to enhance image processing. Leaked material references an AI powered Photo Assist tool and a Private Display feature that reduces side angle visibility for better privacy in public spaces.

Performance and design upgrades

Despite conservative battery and camera updates, the device may still offer improvements in other areas. It is expected to feature a 6.9 inch QHD Plus M14 CoE Dynamic AMOLED display, up to 60W fast charging support, S Pen compatibility and a premium titanium build.

Samsung is likely to continue positioning the Ultra as a productivity focused flagship, with S Pen support remaining a key differentiator.

Expected price in India

Pricing has not been confirmed. The predecessor launched at around Rs 1,29,999 in India, and Samsung may keep pricing in a similar range. However, some reports suggest a possible increase.

The Galaxy S26 series will be officially unveiled on February 25, with the livestream beginning at 11:30 pm IST. All details will be confirmed at the launch event.

If the leaks prove accurate, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may focus on refinement and software intelligence rather than dramatic hardware changes.
