The Kia Carens MPV, which was launched for the first time in 2021, became an instant hit for the automaker when it arrived. The company has given some new information on its sales performance. The company said that now more than 2 lakh units of Carens have been sold. During the unveiling of the new Carens Clavis MPV, Kia announced that the petrol variant contributes about 58 percent to the total sales of Carens. Apart from this, 42 percent people are buying its diesel model.
Kia has managed to make a distinct place for itself in the segment dominated by Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta since its launch. The automaker further revealed that 32 percent of Kia Carens customers opted for automatic transmission options. Meanwhile the company offers the option of automatic transmission with two of the three engines.
Though 1.5-litre car naturally aspirated petrol is paired with a 6-speed manual, while the 1.5-litre turbo petrol is available with IMT and 7-speed DCT.
New challenge for Carens
