Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Bengaluru, has signed a landmark agreement with UK-based Chiac ASI to introduce Artificial Super Intelligence. The move makes VTU one of the first universities to formally adopt ASI as part of its academic and research ecosystem.

What Is Artificial Super Intelligence

Artificial Super Intelligence is seen as a major leap beyond conventional Artificial Intelligence. VTU stated that ASI is an emerging field currently being researched by only a handful of global players, including Meta and Microsoft, placing the university at the forefront of future tech education.

Chiac ASI’s Global Research Recognition

Chiac ASI, described as the world’s first ASI research institution, has gained international recognition for its research. The company recently received an award at a global conference for its work on controlling potentially risky ASI behaviour using Indian sutras.

Agreement Signed by Key Leaders

The academic and research agreement was formally signed by VTU Vice-Chancellor Dr S Vidyashankar and Chiac ASI CEO Chandrashekar Nagaraju, marking a strategic step toward integrating advanced intelligence systems into higher education.

VTU’s Vision for Future Technologies

Dr Vidyashankar said VTU is actively aligning itself with fast-evolving technologies. He noted that ASI is expected to bring a major technological revolution by 2030, while also addressing concerns around unchecked AI growth.

Free Internships and ASI Textbooks for Students

Under the agreement, Chiac ASI will provide free internships to over 1,000 VTU students. Additionally, engineering faculty will receive self-updating ASI research textbooks, designed to evolve continuously with new developments in the field.

Faculty Training and Workshops Conducted

VTU also confirmed that ASI workshops have already been conducted for faculty members across VTU-affiliated colleges, ensuring educators are prepared to teach this advanced subject effectively.

National Security and Global Competition

Chiac ASI CEO Chandrashekar Nagaraju highlighted the national security importance of super intelligence. He warned that countries like the US and China are progressing rapidly, stressing the need for India to establish leadership in ASI before 2030.

Ambitious Goal to Build ASI Talent in India

Nagaraju revealed an ambitious vision to train one million ASI-ready engineers across India. He added that VTU alone has the potential to produce nearly 4 lakh ASI-skilled engineers, making a major contribution to the country’s tech future.
