Terrorist attack on Soldiers in Pakistan killed 9
On Thursday, a suicide bomber intentionally bumped into an army convoy in Pakistan and killed over 9 soldiers and several others were injured in the blast. The incident took place in Bannu district of Pakistan. This district lies in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
According to the Pakistani Army, the terrorist organization Tahreek-e-Taliban is behind this attack.
A press statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) read, “On 31 August 2023, a motorcycle-borne suicide bomber exploded himself on a military convoy in general area Jani Khel, Bannu District. Resultantly, nine soldiers including Naib Subedar Sanobar Ali embraced shahadat, while five soldiers were injured.”
According to reports, around 20 people have been injured in the attack.
The area of incident is sealed and the security forces have began investigation to find any other terrorist in the near by area.
The current Pakistani Prime minister serving as a caretaker Prime minister has also expressed his grief through the microblogging platform Twitter.
"Heartbroken by the loss of 9 valiant soldiers in Bannu Division, KPK, to a cowardly terrorist act that injured many. Such acts are utterly reprehensible. My thoughts are with the families of the martyred and injured. Pakistan stands resolute against such terror" said the PM.

This is the first terrorist attack in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan, instead the region saw another one in July which killed 54 people and injure 100 people. This attack took place in a political Party conference.
According to local authority, Taliban has gained more power and confidence after the Taliban regime took over Afghanistan. These terrorist organizations find safe heavens in Afghanistan.
These kinds of attacks have become a reality in Pakistan. The country is already facing tumultuous times with the economy shattering, elections pending and debt increasing. Experts have the opinion that the country may soon break.
If Pakistan does not get back on track in recent future, then it may also cause problems for India as well. An unstable country can certainly impact the immediate neighbors and cause instability in the region.
