Vaccine War

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Vaccine War is a Hindi language film based making of Covid vaccine by India during Pandemic.

The Vaccine War is based on the true story of developing  Vaccine for Covid -19 in India.  The vaccine in the picture is Covaxin which was  developed by Bharat Biotech in partnership with the National Institute of virology and the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR).

The indigenously developed vaccine has saved the lives of millions of people in India and abroad. This film intends to tell the story of the journey of making vaccine for a viral disease which was killing thousands of people in India and the world every day. Developing a vaccine was a crucial task undertaken by scientists who were facing intense pressure to save the lives of millions of those who were close to death.

The film is not just about the success of scientists who developed the vaccine, but is all about the struggle faced by these scientists in the process of developing the vaccine, the environment of the country and also about those who did not wanted India to succeed in this project.

The film is scheduled to release on 28 September 2023.

The Director Vivek Agnihotri, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Hindi film industry by saying that the industry is behaving as if the film does not exist and is intentionally trying not to acknowledge the film. In a press conference he also said that the quality of film produced in India has been low because the producers have produced them thinking that the Indian audience cannot understand or relate with good stories and scripts thus cultivating a dumb audience.  He wants to give good stories to audience because audience is ready to consume good quality films.
