The battery box of one
of the coaches caught fire, as reported by Indian Railways, shortly after the
train left Rani Kamalapati station (formerly known as Habibganj) and headed in
the direction of Nizamuddin in New Delhi.

An official with the
Indian Railways reported that at 10:05 a.m., after a thorough inspection, the
train left the station.

We received word that a
fire and smoke broke out in the battery compartment of coach C-14 on the Rani
Kamlapati Station to Hazrat Nizamuddin Terminal (Delhi)-bound Vande Bharat
Express 20171. The train stopped at the station of Kurwai Kethora. The fire was
extinguished at 7:58 am, according to Rahul Shrivastava, West Central Railway’s
chief public relations officer.

The 20 to 22 passengers
in the coach were promptly transferred to other coaches.
The Rani
Kamalapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vanda Bharat train was promptly stopped between
the Kurwai and Kaithora stations in the Vidisha district at approximately 6:45
am , when a fire was discovered in the battery compartment of C-12 coach.
