On Wednesday, the 23rd, Vistara airline narrowly averted a critical mishap. The windshield of Vistara flight UK 991 cracked due to adverse weather conditions. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot made the decision to land the aircraft at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

The airline promptly arranged another flight to transport the passengers who were originally headed to Pune from Delhi. "An alternate aircraft has been immediately arranged, which will depart shortly. The inconvenience caused to customers is deeply regretted. As always, the safety of our customers and crew is of the utmost importance to Vistara," the airline's spokesperson stated.

"We confirm that Vistara flight UK 991, en route from Delhi to Pune, encountered adverse weather conditions soon after takeoff, resulting in a crack in its windshield. As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to return, and the aircraft safely landed at IGI Airport, Delhi. An alternative aircraft was swiftly organized. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers. As always, the safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority," the airline's spokesperson added.

According to sources, the flight experienced turbulence, causing panic among both children and adults who began screaming during the 45-60 seconds of turbulence.

Bomb Threats

Just last week, on Friday, August 18th, flight UK-971 was scheduled to depart from Delhi around 8:30 am, reaching Pune by 10:40 am. However, the airport's call center received bomb threats related to the flight. About 100 passengers were asked to wait at the airport while authorities inspected the aircraft for potential threats. After a thorough examination revealed no evidence of a threat, the flight experienced an 8-hour delay.

Close mishap avoided

In addition to these incidents, today,  a Vistara A-320 aircraft was granted clearance for takeoff while another Vistara aircraft was in the process of landing. The Air Traffic Control (ATC) swiftly intervened upon receiving this information, instructing the takeoff to be aborted.

These occurrences collectively indicate that Vistara Airlines has been encountering a series of challenges and incidents, creating a tumultuous period for the airline.
