Three Kolkata Eateries Named Among World's Iconic Dessert Destinations

Taste Atlas, an online guide for experiential travel, recently unveiled its list of the 50 most renowned dessert destinations worldwide. Notably, three esteemed eateries in Kolkata secured spots on this prestigious list.

Kolkata has long been celebrated for its rich tradition of delectable sweets and desserts, with iconic treats like Roshogulla, Sandesh, and Chom Chom becoming synonymous with the city's culinary identity.

Among the distinguished Kolkata establishments recognized by Taste Atlas, KC Das, a confectionery with roots tracing back to 1866, claimed the 25th position. KC Das is renowned for its signature dish, rasgullas.

Occupying the 26th spot on the list is Flurys, a prominent Kolkata confectionery acclaimed for its diverse array of desserts and charming decor. Taste Atlas highlighted Flurys' fame for its delectable rum balls, an exquisite blend of chocolate sponge cake, cocoa, and rum.

Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick, a legendary sweet shop in Kolkata, earned the 37th position on the list. This establishment is celebrated for its traditional Bengali sweets, particularly Sandesh.

The list also featured several other iconic Indian sweet shops and confectioneries, such as Pune's Kayani Bakery (18th), Hyderabad's Karachi Bakery (29th), and Mumbai's K Rustom and Co (49th).
