Two days after the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his wife Mansourah Khojasteh has also died. According to Iranian state media, she was injured during recent US and Israeli strikes and later succumbed to her injuries. Reports indicate Mansourah Khojasteh was injured in the same wave of attacks that killed Ayatollah Khamenei. This joint US-Israeli operation targeted several targets in and around Tehran. Iranian state media reported that he was in critical condition due to his injuries and eventually passed away.

Iran and Iran-backed groups have launched attacks on Israel and parts of the Gulf region. According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, at least 555 people have been killed in Iran so far.

Concerns have also grown regarding the oil trade through the Strait of Hormuz, which is considered vital for nearly a fifth of the world's crude oil trade.
