Chaitra Navratri 2026 Navami Kanya Pujan Muhurat: Today marks the final day of Chaitra Navratri, also known as Mahanavami or Ram Navami. On this day, the ninth manifestation of Goddess Durga—Mata Siddhidatri—is worshipped. The nine-day-long period of devotion and worship observed during Navratri also concludes on this very day. Following the worship, 'Kanya Pujan' is performed, after which the Navratri festivities are brought to a close by breaking the fast (*Parana*). Let us find out what the auspicious *Muhurat* for *Kanya Pujan* will be today, on the Navami of Chaitra Navratri.
The Auspicious Muhurat for Kanya Pujan During Navratri (Navami 2026 Kanya Pujan Muhurat)
According to the *Drik Panchang*, the *Navami Tithi* (ninth lunar day) of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Chaitra began yesterday—March 26—at 11:48 AM. This *Tithi* will conclude today—March 27—at 10:06 AM.
Chaitra Navratri Navami 2026 Conjunction (Chaitra Navratri 2026 Mahanavami Sanyog)
Mahanavami is considered particularly special this year because an auspicious conjunction of *Ravi Yoga* and 'Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga' is forming on this day. In religious traditions, both 'Ravi Yoga' and 'Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga' are regarded as highly fruitful and potent. It is believed that acts of worship and rituals performed during these specific 'Yogas' help in the alleviation of afflictions (*doshas*) and lead to the attainment of auspicious results.
Significance of Maa Siddhidatri
The worship of Maa Siddhidatri holds special significance on the day of Mahanavami. This manifestation of the Mother Goddess is believed to bestow *Siddhis* (supernatural powers) and fulfill the cherished desires of her devotees. It is believed that worshipping her with a sincere heart on this day yields the spiritual rewards of the entire nine-day Navaratri observance and helps alleviate life's troubles.
How to Worship Maa Siddhidatri? (Maa Siddhidatri Puja)
For the worship ritual, after taking a morning bath, light a *ghee* lamp (*diya*) before Maa Siddhidatri and offer her flowers. Offering fruits, sweets, or nine different types of food (*Bhog*) to the Goddess is considered highly auspicious. Following this, chant the mantra "Om Hreem Durgayai Namah." After the worship concludes, distribute the *Prasad* (sacred food offering) to the needy first, and only then partake of it yourself.
Kanya Pujan (Kanya Pujan Ritual)
'Kanya Pujan' (the worship of young girls) is performed after the worship of the Mother Goddess. For this ritual, young girls are invited to the home and honored with great respect. Their feet are washed, a *tilak* (sacred mark) is applied to their foreheads, and they are served a meal. A special *Prasad* consisting of *Halwa*, *Puri*, and *Chana* (chickpeas) is traditionally prepared for this day. Along with the girls, a young boy is also seated, as he is revered as a manifestation of Lord Bhairav. After the meal, gifts and *Dakshina* (monetary offerings) are presented to them, and their blessings are sought.
