In a recent incident, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees reported that an aid convoy came under fire from the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip. The event occurred on Thursday afternoon as the convoy was returning from northern Gaza along a route designated by the Israeli army. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, but one vehicle sustained damage during the attack.

Tom White, the director of UNRWA in Gaza, confirmed the incident, stating, "Israeli soldiers fired at an aid convoy as it returned from northern Gaza along a route designated by the Israeli army. Our international convoy leader and his team were not injured, but one vehicle sustained damage."

The Israeli military responded to inquiries, mentioning that they are currently investigating the reports of the incident. The UN humanitarian chief, Martin Griffiths, expressed his concerns about the challenges faced by aid efforts in Gaza. In a post on X, he described the situation as "impossible for the people of Gaza, and for those trying to help them."

Griffiths further highlighted the difficulties encountered by aid convoys, citing incidents of them being shot at without providing specific details. "You think getting aid into Gaza is easy? Think again," he emphasized.

The incident adds to the ongoing complexities surrounding humanitarian efforts in the region, drawing attention to the challenges faced by those attempting to provide assistance to the people of Gaza.
