A Indian Army caption of the 48 Rashtriya Rifles was killed during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district in afternoon  As by sources the caption was leading the operations in Shivgarh Dhar in Assar of Doda district Hower ever operations are still in underway The encounter broke at around 7:30 am in a thickly forested area during a cordon and search operation (CASO) launched by a joint team to track down a group of foreign terrorists hiding in the Shivgarh-Assar belt The terrorists, who are holed up in a river in Assar crossed into Doda from a forest near Patnitop in adjacent Udhampur district after a brief exchange of fire with the security forces The encounter first began around 6 pm in Udhampur on tomorrow but  It was stopped after a while and a cordon was established overnight said officials

The operation resumed for search today

This encounter comes a day before Independence Day celebrations and as Defense Minister Rajnath Singh chairs a high-profile meet attended by the Army chief and NSA chief However The encounter was in a forested area during  search operation launched by a joint security team to track down the terrorists hiding in the Shivgarh security forces  recovered a United States-made M4 assault rifle and four blood-soaked rucksacks containing equipment and logistics from the encounter site As per the information Army had been tipped off to the terrorists hideout at last evening after which they engaged the enemy There was a brief exchange of fire that night and the operation resumed this morning this in not the first time this encounter happened every year our jawan
