Fastest T20I Century: Sikanzar Raza has broken all the records of T20 cricket history. He has also left behind Indian captain Rohit Sharma in terms of scoring the fastest century in T20 International.

Fastest T20I Century in T20 International

Zimbabwe's Sikanzar Raza Fastest T20I Hundred in ZIM vs GAM:  Though a flurry of records has been set in the Zimbabwe vs Gambia T20 match. In the Africa Qualifier tournament of the Men's T20 World Cup, Zimbabwe batted first and scored 344 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.

In this match, 3 Zimbabwe batsmen scored fifties and Sikandar Raza also scored a century in a rapid style. Sikandar's century has left behind big giants in terms of scoring the fastest century in international T20 cricket.

Sikandar hit 15 sixes in 43-ball innings

Captain Sikandar Raza scored a century in 33 balls. He is the first batsman to score a century in T20 International for Zimbabwe. Sikandar Raza, who plays for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), completed his half-century in 20 balls. This means that he played only 13 balls to reach the next 50 runs. Sikandar Raza returned to the pavilion unbeaten after scoring 133 runs in 43 balls with the help of 7 fours and 15 sixes.

Apart from Sikandar Raza, wicketkeeper batsman Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brian Bennett and Clive Madande tore apart the Gambia bowlers. His partner Clive Madande completed his half-century in 17 balls. The speed with which Zimbabwe's batsmen batted can be gauged from the fact that only one of its batsmen scored runs at a strike rate of less than 200 (Brian Bennett/192.31).

Rohit-Miller all remained behind

Sikandar Raza came to the crease to bat in the 8th over of Zimbabwe's innings. The team's score was 115 runs in the first 7 overs and after that Sikandar also batted in a stormy manner. He thrashed the Gambia bowlers and completed his fifty in 20 balls, but in the next 13 balls he scored the next 50 runs. In this way, he completed his century in just 33 balls, making him the second fastest batsman to score a century in T20 cricket history.

However, names like Rohit Sharma and David Miller are also included in this list, both of them have scored a century in a T20 match in 35 balls. But Sikandar Raza has now gone ahead of them by completing a century in 33 balls.

Talking about the full member countries of ICC, now Sikandar Raza has also become the fastest player to score a century among them. He hit 15 sixes and 7 fours during his unbeaten innings of 133 runs in 43 balls. Sikandar has also become the first player from Zimbabwe to score a century in international T20 cricket.

5 batsmen scored runs at a strike rate of more than 220

Apart from Brian Bennett, every batsman of Zimbabwe scored runs at a strike rate of more than 220. Tadiwanashe Marumani scored 62 runs in 19 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes. Dion Myers returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs in 5 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Ryan Burl played an innings of 25 runs in 11 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Gambia's Musa Jobarteh became the most expensive bowler by giving away 93 runs in 4 overs.

Earlier this record was in the name of Nepal. Nepal scored 314 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs against Mongolia on 27 September 2023. So far, only Nepal and Zimbabwe have scored 300 or more runs in T20 International.

India is at number three in terms of scoring the highest score in a T20 International match. India scored 297 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs against Bangladesh.
