Family Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC) in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate is providing effective solutions to family disputes and related issues through counseling and mediation.
Under the direction of Police Commissioner Gautam Buddh Nagar, Mrs. Lakshmi Singh, and the leadership of the DCP Women's Safety, the Family Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC) in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate is providing effective solutions to family disputes and related issues through counseling and mediation. In this regard, in 2025, the police have saved 387 families from breaking up through the Family Dispute Resolution Clinic (FDRC).
The Family Dispute Resolution Clinic (FDRC) was established in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate in 2000 to resolve family disputes. Under this initiative, the Commissionerate police, in collaboration with experts, mediates between family members involved in domestic disputes. Thus, police action was taken in only 5% of the cases. The remaining 95% of cases were resolved, and families were saved from breaking up. Peacefully resolving marital disputes is a challenging task.

Case 3: A dispute arising from ideological differences and lack of compatibility between a couple—Mrs. Priyanshi (fictitious name) and her husband Sonu (fictitious name), residents of Migsun Twin Eta-2, Greater Noida—was successfully resolved at FDRC Knowledge Park, Greater Noida. In this case, a total of three mediation/counseling sessions were conducted jointly by the expert professional team and police personnel. Both parties were provided with a safe, impartial, and cordial environment for communication, as a result of which the couple agreed to resolve their differences and continue their married life.
FDRC have received a total of 533 cases so far in 2025
DCP Women's Safety Manisha Singh said that FDRCs are being operated at three locations in the district. Here, counseling and mediation are provided in cases related to family disputes to resolve conflicts between husbands and wives. So far in 2025, a total of 533 cases related to husband-wife disputes have been reported at the Sector-108, Knowledge Park, and Cherry County FDRCs. Of these, 411 cases have been resolved through counseling. The remaining cases are still undergoing mediation. During this period, only 24 cases were registered. 387 cases were resolved through mutual agreement. It is claimed that police action was taken in only five percent of the complaints received.

The main objective of the FDRC is to amicably resolve family disputes, prevent families from breaking up, and maintain peace and stability in society. The FDRC and the Women's Helpline team, with the help of expert professional counselors, listen to both parties and provide mediation, counseling, and guidance in an impartial environment. Through this, effective solutions are provided in cases related to domestic violence, dowry, and other social issues, while understanding the mental, emotional, and behavioral problems involved.
Recently resolved major case:
Case-1: A marital dispute between a couple—the applicant Mrs. Anita (fictitious name) and her husband Vijay (fictitious name), residents of Noida—was successfully and amicably resolved at the FDRC Sector-108, Noida. The applicant had filed a complaint against her husband and other in-laws alleging domestic violence, disputes related to social media (Instagram reels/Facebook live), mental and physical harassment, and failure to provide for household expenses. In this case, the husband and wife were called in for mediation a total of four times on different dates by the FDRC Sector-108 in-charge and the expert professional counselors team. As a result, both parties mutually agreed to live together. The applicant has a son and a daughter, and she had been living separately at her parents' home for the past 10 months. The children were also counseled during the mediation process, as both children were emotionally and mentally distressed by their parents' conflict. Through successful counseling, a broken family was reunited.
