According to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state possesses everything necessary for a thriving industry. Dhami was addressing in New Delhi at the opening ceremony for the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit. The meeting will be on December 8 and 9, 2023.

Providing financial incentives to encourage investment

CM Dhami, who spoke at the event, stated that the Uttarakhand government is putting special policies into place to encourage investments in the state. The government is also looking into appealing financial incentives to encourage investment across a variety of sectors in the state.

These policies primarily consist of the Tourism Policy-2023, the MSME Policy-2023, the Start-up Policy-2023, the Logistics Policy-2023, and the Policy-2023 for the creation of Private Industrial Estates.

In his speech, Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the government is committed to helping Uttarakhand, which has the nation's fastest-growing economy, while also preserving its natural heritage.

Strong Uttarakhand Mission

The "Strong Uttarakhand Mission" was established to develop the state's economy, and one of its goals is to double the state's SGDP during the following five years. The state is putting together the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit in 2023 as a means of achieving this objective.

CM Dhami added that Uttarakhand is quickly establishing itself as a young state with numerous business prospects.

High snowy peaks, a serene landscape, and a wealth of cultural traditions give the state its unique identity in both the nation and the world. 'Ease of doing business' in the state goes hand in hand with 'peace of conducting business,' according to Dhami. He further emphasised how uncommon cases of worker dissatisfaction are in the state of Uttarakhand.

Development of Railways, Roadways, and Airways in Uttrakhand

According to the Chief Minister, Uttarakhand now has a land bank of over 6,000 acres accessible for the establishment of enterprises in a variety of sectors. Rail, road, and aviation links in the state have all continued to develop.

The airport in Dehradun now offers direct flights to a number of places. The airports in Dehradun and Pantnagar are also being extended. Construction of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway line is underway as part of the expansion and modernization of the railway network.

A route that is all-weather is being built in the state as well, to help with the Char-Dham Yatra.

Mahindra Holidays plans to invest Rs. 1000 crores

To build four to five renowned resorts in Uttarakhand over the coming years, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts (MHRIL), a premier leisure hospitality company operating under the Club Mahindra brand, will invest Rs 1,000 crore, which will be its highest investment to date in any state.

This action is a part of MHRIL's ambitious ambition to increase the number of keys it now offers from 5,000 to 10,000 by the year 2030. With the investment, the company's foothold in Uttarakhand, where it already runs resorts in Jim Corbett, Mussoorie, Kanatal, and Binsar, would be significantly increased.

The managing director and CEO of MHRIL, Kavinder Singh, expressed hope for Uttarakhand's future and appreciation for the state's assistance.

Currently, Holiday Club Resorts Oy (HCR), a subsidiary of MHRIL in Europe, operates 33 Timeshare Properties, including nine spa resorts spread across Finland, Sweden, and Spain. MHRIL currently maintains 102 resorts in India and abroad.
