Viral Video: ‘Zombie Drug’ Attack in Bihar—Or Something Else? Youth ‘Freezes’ Mid-Road
A disturbing incident in Bihar has raised fresh concerns regarding the spread of the alleged 'Zombie Drug,' after a man was spotted staggering on a busy local road, appearing to be completely intoxicated.
‘Zombie Drug’ Spreads to Bihar? A chilling video is currently going viral across various social media platforms, leaving the public both shocked and deeply disturbed. Following similar incidents in Chandigarh and Bengaluru, a video has now emerged from Bihar that has once again fueled fears surrounding the ‘Zombie Drug.’
What Does the Viral Video Show?
In this viral clip from Bihar, a man is seen standing motionless—or ‘frozen’—in the middle of the road, appearing completely dazed. The individual is neither moving nor reacting to any of the activity taking place around him. In the background of the video, the frightened voice of a woman can be heard saying, "What has happened? We never imagined we would witness something like this in Bihar."
The video is being shared extensively across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Reddit, with netizens describing it as a new and dangerous wave of drug abuse.
What is the ‘Zombie Drug’?
Fentanyl (often combined with Xylazine) is a dangerous synthetic opioid also referred to as the ‘Zombie Drug.’ Its consumption causes individuals to become lethargic, often leaving them slumped over or standing motionless in a single spot for hours on end. The drug primarily targets the nervous system. It has already wreaked havoc in cities like Philadelphia in the United States.
What is the Connection to Chandigarh and Bengaluru?
This is not the first time such a video has become viral on social media. An earlier video that went viral from Chandigarh featured a Blinkit delivery executive who stood frozen in the same spot—like a statue—for several hours. Subsequently, a man in Bengaluru was found standing frozen by the roadside.
Fact or Mere Rumor?
Although people are linking these incidents to the "zombie drug," there has been no official confirmation from any government agency or the police thus far. Meanwhile, experts believe that this could be a symptom of a serious mental or neurological condition.
Conversely, many social media users view this as merely a new ploy to grab attention. For now, this video—which went viral from Bihar—has once again sparked a fresh debate.
One user questioned: "If this is true, why have the police and authorities remained silent until now?" Another remarked: "This is a serious social issue; it should not be dismissed as just another viral clip."
