Born on November 8, 2001, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Avani Lekhara is an Indian Paralympian who won gold and bronze at the 2020 Paralympics and is the top-ranked shooter in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 as of January 2023.

Avani Lekhara made history as the first female Paralympian from India to win a medal. She secured India’s first gold medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, where she also tied the world record and set a Paralympic record with a score of 249.6 points in the final event.
